Enhancing Your Kitchen With Backsplash

Kitchens are fun and exciting to design. With all the details that go into a kitchen, it takes time and planning. There are lots to think about when it comes to the details. Not only is there the cabinetry and the functionality, but also the decorative details such as the materials. Or maybe you’re the type that has it all figured out? That’s also fun and exciting because when seeing your ideas and vision come to fruition is what kitchen dreams are all about! One of our favorite ways to see our kitchens enhanced is through the backsplash tile. It’s a great way to add a pop of interest and texture to the space. Here are some of our favorite ways to add backsplash:

Types of Tile

Possibly the first thing that comes to mind is to utilize tile for the backsplash. Tile comes in many different sizes and shapes – and an endless amount of color options! Sizes can range from as small as a penny to as large as large can be. And playing with shapes is a wonderful way to make it pop. Shapes are available in squares, circles, diamonds, and several other geometrical shapes. But don’t stop there. Traditional tile is made from ceramic or porcelain, but there are other materials to work with as well. Maybe glass, metal, or stone is up your alley for your backsplash?

Ways to Add Pattern

Creating a pattern is a great way to vamp up a basic rectangular backsplash tile. Instead of installing subway tile in a brick formation, why not try a herringbone pattern? Herringbone is a classic and is created with a simple tile you can get almost anywhere. You could even mix brick lay with a picture frame in herringbone for example.

Other Ways to Backsplash

Now, there’s more than one way to add a backsplash to your kitchen. Yes, there’s tile, but what about other materials? What about continuing your countertops as your backsplash? You could even get specially made glass sheets installed – talk about easy cleanup. Then for a budget-friendly alternative, there are wallpapers and paints durably made to act as the backsplash. You never know what you’ll find!
